A friend asked me today what helped me earn my PMP certification. What would your response be to this question? How did you prepare for the exam and gain knowledge of project mgmt? I passed my exam in 2019 while working at Auburn University Office of Information Technology, just a few months after attending an RMC training class, which was extremely helpful. RMC broke down the PMBOK into a process chart that helped me learn the Knowledge Areas and Process Groups. Also, like everything else these days, ChatGPT does really well in helping to create project resources. I am now working in telecommunications at Binghamton University again. I use AI all the time in my projects, and I heard it can also create quizzes for test prep. Lastly, document your projects for the application. It is a pretty detailed application that needs information about your projects, the areas you worked on, the length of time you worked on them, and the people who owned the project that can verify your efforts. I spent weeks going over my old IT infrastructure projects that I worked on at Binghamton University. For me, all my project owners were still on campus, so I didn’t have to reach out to customers to validate my information when my application was audited.
