The PM World Journal (PMWJ) is a monthly, practitioner-oriented, digital publication serving the global program and project management (P/PM) field. It is independently produced by PM World in the USA, with the involvement and support of advisors, correspondents, authors and organizations around the world. It is not a refereed academic journal; contents are, however, indexed by EBSCO, the world’s largest database provider for libraries and universities around the world. The PMWJ includes a wide variety of papers, articles, reports and other works by authors in many countries, with approximately 30 new works published each month. The PMWJ is intended to be a global resource for continuous learning and knowledge sharing related to P/PM. It is intended to help advance the global project management profession and to promote professional P/PM in support of positive economic, political and social development around the world. We believe that is best accomplished through creation of new P/PM knowledge, the sharing of that knowledge, and the application of that knowledge in ethical, professional and sustainable ways. The following objectives are shared with the PM World Library, the online repository for articles, papers and other works first published in the PM World Journal. To promote and support the creation of new P/PM knowledge To provide greater recognition and visibility for the authors and creators of that new P/PM knowledge To promote and support the transfer of that knowledge to individuals, organizations and locations where professional P/PM may be weak, less available or badly needed To provide an easily accessible online repository of P/PM knowledge and information – as a global resource for continuous learning and knowledge sharing To promote the sharing and use of modern, professional P/PM for addressing and solving more of the world’s problems – to make this world a better place The PMWJ constantly seeks new works to publish. To the project management practitioners in my network and beyond: Another insightful article by Stanislaw Gasik, PhD, PMP in the public projects' series published in the December issue of the PM World Journal. Not only the private sector, but also the public sector has recognized the value of project management certifications such as the PMP and CAMP (for less complex projects) and related professional development training. Public sector projects are inherently more complex that private sector projects because they have more stakeholders and often impact the public at large. In addition, they have to be delivered within the bounds of the regulatory/legal compliance framework specific to the particular state/country.
