While you're busy making your favorite family recipes this week, one of our pediatric therapists is sharing his own ingredients for an effective family bonding recipe: Communication, Active Listening, Mutual Respect, Quality Time, and Expressing Love & Appreciation. Family bonding is a cornerstone of healthy and harmonious family life and forms the basis for emotional connection. A commitment to family togetherness provides a sense of belonging and identity, and creates a safe and secure environment where family members can express themselves and build trust. We’ve seen this first-hand with the families we support through our behavioral and school health services. The School Health Team was off to college to support future educators! Dr. Jeanne Marconi, VP of School Health & Clinical Integration, was a guest speaker at Princeton University's Psychology 307 class during their discussion on ‘Direct Psychological Interventions in Schools: Psychological Engineering in the Classroom’. She worked with the students to apply theory learned throughout the semester into practice by using modeling from our innovative multi-tiered School Health program that meets the gaps that students and families have in accessing vital behavioral health services. We appreciate the opportunity to speak with such bright individuals and look forward to seeing them shine in helping students thrive for years to come. Thank you for having us, Dr. Glat!

We are so proud to announce the launch of our dedicated lactation space at PM Pediatric Urgent Care in North Babylon, NY! Thanks to a generous grant and our partnership with the BFREE Coalition (Breastfeeding Resiliency, Engagement, and Empowerment), PM Pediatric Care’s Stephaine Jones and Jessica Kubicki, in collaboration with?Director of Wellness and DEI, Dr. Roshni Patel, have worked to ensure this dedicated lactation area in our office. This space ensures a private, supportive environment for nursing parents, underscoring our commitment to employee well-being and community care. BFREE has been instrumental in raising awareness of breastfeeding as both a public health and equity issue. Their work addresses the unique challenges breastfeeding parents face—whether at home, work, or in public settings—by advocating for accessible and nurturing environments. Partnering with BFREE aligns perfectly with our organizational values and DEI mission to foster inclusivity and support in every aspect of our employees’ lives. We celebrated this milestone with a gathering at our North Babylon office, where we were honored to receive a certificate of recognition as a lactation-friendly practice. It was inspiring to welcome Senator Monica R. Martinez and Councilman DuWayne Gregory into our office for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Their support emphasizes the importance of accessible spaces for breastfeeding parents and the broader significance of employee wellness. As we look to the future, we aim to continue expanding these initiatives, empowering our team members to bring their best selves to work every day.
