We were honored to be represented this week by Connection Architect Baochau Thomas and Program Manager Lindsay Clark at the Teachers of Color and Allies Summit at the University of Colorado Boulder. Their presentation focused on two of our Six Degrees of Connection and how they can support deep connection-building in the class and conference rooms. We are always looking to reach more educators who seek free support and resources on how to improve connection and engagement. Visit our resource page for more! pluswonder.org/educators

A huge thank you to my sister-in-law Baochau Thomas for pitching the chance to co-present at an education summit yesterday. The Teachers of Color and Allies Summit at the University of Colorado Boulder gathers education students and local educators of color and allies to provide collegial support and best practices in education. I work at Plus Wonder where we've been working with educators for years to bake the Six Degrees of Connection wisdom into school curricula. Along with our Education Connection Architect Council, we have been improving our programming, outreach, and infrastructure to better support teachers doing the hard work to scaffold connection skills at school. We'll be recruiting more council members next year for anyone interested :) The incredible educators present at TOCA are working tirelessly to give all their students the best chance of personal success through equitable support. The theme of this year's summit was "Navigating the Nuanced Narrative of Neutrality," and teachers focused on empowerment through data and new strategies while also making space to heal and recharge for themselves and their students. The keynote speaker Dr. Vincent Basile presented on decriminalizing practices that connect to our Six Degrees, such as positive reframing & assuming brilliance (celebrate friction), highly respectful interactions & honoring space (unshakable mutual respect), and repair (shared humility). It was so nice to come out from behind my home office desk and interact with educators in real life. I hope we made more educators curious about the Six Degrees of Connection framework and brought some new strategies that can generate hope. Thank you: Baochau, TOCA, and front range educators!

Successful people have a super power … … their partnerships! Whether that be in work, business, romance, family or friends … great partnerships pave the way for wonderful, exciting and excellent adventures. I’ve recently read 'Partnering', by Jean Oelwang, who gives great insight into some superb partnerships that have been forged, including Archbishop Desmond & Leah Tutu, and Ben & Jerry. She highlights lessons learnt and six essential principles common to these deep and purposeful relationships. Six Degrees of Connection: - Something Bigger - Lift your purpose - All-In - 100% have each other’s backs - The Ecosystem - A moral ecosystem of virtues (trust, respect, united belief, humility, generosity, compassion) - Magnetic Moments - Build your shared history - Celebrate Friction - Turn conflict into learning opportunities? - Collective Connections - Scaled collaboration In a world where individualism and self-interest abounds, partnering perhaps could be the answer to us creating a more united society, one where our leadership is packed full of purpose and helps to influence and impact for the greater good. Who are we partnering with? Who could we partner with? As Richard Branson put it so well - ‘One plus one = more done and more fun.’ To explore further the idea of meaningful connections and partnering you can visit - https://pluswonder.org/

Anthony Ray Hinton spent 30 years on death row for a murder he did not commit, while Lester Bailey visited him every week without fail, creating a deep, lifelong friendship. They are working to end the death penalty in America. In honor of Nelson Mandela International Day, we want to highlight an incredible example of a partnership taking action and inspiring change. "We never really had nothing, but we had each other. And over the years as you get older, you realize you thought you didn't have anything, but yet we had the whole world." #NelsonMandelaInternationalDay

One of the best ways to develop a book of business to enhance your value in the marketplace is to work with other experts who are complementary to your services. By partnering with other experts, you can add even more value to clients. However, most people don't know how to develop meaningful partnerships with others that are outside their organization. In this episode of Real Relationships Real Revenue, I sat down with Jean Oelwang, author of Partnering, to talk about how you can develop partnerships that help you give your clients maximum value. This episode is packed with powerful unlocks so make sure to check it out at https://lnkd.in/gt7fv4uU! Mo Bunnell
