Yesterday night right after the second presidential debate, Taylor Swift has cited her concern over deepfake videos generated by AI about her recently during the presidential election. We launched GaussMass 1.0 one day prior to the first presidential debate back in June because we realized how deepfake AI content can influence political elections in a negative way that most of the people are not aware of. There are more ways to create deepfake content right now, two most used ones are Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs). Once malicious actors gather data of a human's face, they then align their face with the model face and then do cropping, resizing, and rotating to make sure their faces match with the model face that they want to deepfake upon to increase their robustness. So if one wants to make sure they can mask up with another person's face, they can use additional tools like a huge headphone to set the positions of encoding throughput and the area of masking. After that, they use GANs and VAEs to do face swapping and fine-tuning to adjust the results to improve realism with editing tools for refinement and synchronization. There are more creative ways of generating deepfake videos and more models are getting trained solely for this purpose.
