They've arrived! We have our first sea turtle nest of the season at #PlungeBeach. Please help us do our part to keep them safe: - As the sun sets, please remember to close your room's window coverings to prevent any bright lights from disturbing our turtles during their nesting process. - Avoid using flashlights or flash photography on the beach after dark, as this can disorient nesting turtles and their hatchlings. - Before returning to your room, be sure to dismantle any sandcastles or fill in any holes you've dug on the beach. These obstacles can pose significant challenges for nesting turtles. - Help keep our beaches clean by taking all of your belongings with you when you leave, leaving behind only your footprints in the sand. - While it's tempting to interact with nesting turtles or hatchlings, please refrain from doing so to avoid causing them stress or harm. If you encounter an injured turtle, please alert our staff immediately so we can contact the Sea Turtle Conservation Program Emergency Line for assistance.
