Temperatures are going to be in the high teens to 20’s this week. Businesses and residents alike should take proactive measures to protect their plumbing and piping systems from freezing and potential damage. Industry best practices include insulating pipes, keeping the heat on to maintain a consistent temperature in the building, especially in areas where plumbing is located, avoid turning down the heat overnight or during weekends, allow faucets to drip slightly to keep water moving through pipes, thereby reducing the risk of freezing, open cabinet doors, seal cracks and openings that allow cold air in and be prepared for emergencies by having a plan and knowing how to shut off the water supply if the pipes do freeze or burst. #PCALI #LongIsland #PlumbingContractor #HireLicensed
