"A lot of our projects involve assisting local landowners with fire recovery and reforestation," says Michael Hall, district manager with the Feather River RCD. "There are a lot of seasonally based ups and downs in terms of expenses and cash flow. Having a bank and staff who understand these needs helps us worry more about restoration work on the ground." Our sincere thanks to the Feather River Resource Conservation District for choosing Plumas Bank to be your financial partner. And check out their crew performing restoration work after the Dixie Fire, which is essential to helping Plumas County become more resistant to wildfires. Have you ever received a text that looks like it’s from your boss, asking you to quickly confirm something? It feels legitimate, but it’s actually a scam!? ?? You might get a message like this:? “Hi [Your Name]. Let me know if you get my message. Thanks, [Your Boss’s Name].”? The goal here is to get you to answer and eventually perform a task, like buying gift cards or transferring money. They use personal details to make the message seem credible, but it’s all a trick.? Here’s how you can stay protected:? ?? Don’t trust texts from unknown numbers. Save your boss’s contact details, and always verify random messages with your boss.? ?? Be cautious if you’re asked to promptly buy gift cards or handle money, especially if this is unusual for your boss.? ?? If you are suspicious about the message, don’t reply. Responding can confirm your number is active, so it’s best to block the number. Read our blog and learn more about phishing scams. https://trst.in/qVkBnb
