CATL Unveils Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery for PHEVs and EREVs; Combines Li-ion and Na-ion Technologies ?? According to Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited, Freevoy is the world's first hybrid vehicle battery to achieve a pure electric range of over 400 kilometers and 4C superfast charging, heralding a new era for high-capacity extended range EVs and PHEVs. Freevoy has already been used on numerous models of various brands, including Li Auto, AVATR, DEEPAL, CHANGAN NEVO, and NETA. By 2025, 30 hybrid vehicle models from brands including GEELY, Chery, GAC, and VOYAH, equipped with CATL's Freevoy are scheduled to be launched and delivered. Stellantis and Factorial Take Next Step to Accelerate the Future of Electric Vehicles with Solid-State Battery Technology Stellantis will be incorporating Factorial’s solid-state batteries into a demonstration fleet of all-new Dodge Charger Daytona vehicles based on the STLA Large platform. This initiative builds upon the $75-million investment Stellantis made in Factorial in 2021. These EVs will be on the road by 2026, representing a key next step in bringing solid-state battery technology to mass production. Stellantis has selected the STLA Large multi-energy platform for this innovative technology due to its focus on high-volume electric SUVs and performance vehicles. Factorial will supply Stellantis with cells based on its proprietary FEST solid-state battery technology, which enables a specific energy density of more than 390 Wh/kg. Lyten Announces Plans to Build the World’s First Lithium-Sulfur Battery Gigafactory in Nevada ?? At full capacity, the facility near Reno, Nevada, will produce up to 10 GWh of lithium-sulfur batteries annually. ?? The facility will manufacture cathode active materials, lithium metal anodes and assemble lithium-sulfur cells, enabling a 100% domestically manufactured battery. ?? Lyten has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dermody Properties to locate the facility on land owned by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. ??
