Pleaser Magazine

Hi! Here's an updated design portfolio! Would love to find more work in the music industry doing posters, merchandise, or album design :) I also am the creative director at Pleaser Magazine -- so some work examples from the past 3 issues we've put out are included as well!! Just wanted to recap this amazing experience we had with Wallows as our cover stars for Issue 004: The Nostalgia Issue! For those of you who don't know, Pleaser derived its name from Wallows' debut single "Pleaser" - so needless to say, this was really special. The band was so welcoming and excited for our ideas; we couldn't have asked for anything more! We were so honored they wanted us to be apart of their press for their newest album, Model, and were brimming with ideas from the start. We crafted a rollout that we would want to see as fans. We created a bundle package that included the 108-page magazine, a 12" x 18" fold out poster, a custom postcard, our very first 24-page "Scrawny" zine with behind-the-scenes content, and a sticker sheet. Each person that purchased a bundle was entered to win an exclusive signed Polaroid that we took of the band at the photoshoot. As well as print media, we shot content for social media, including a segment called "Wallows vs. Fans" where the band squared off against some of their biggest fans in Wallows trivia. We are eternally grateful for our hardworking team, who are doing this on their own time. It takes an incredible amount of effort, stamina, and passion to put this all together and we are so proud of everyone involved. Fans did this. Pleaser Magazine released Issue 4: The Nostalgia Issue not that long ago with Wallows as the cover...still amazes me that this is real and it's out in the world physically! I have been working as a designer with Pleaser for a bit now and this is my second issue with them and it is the most inspiring, creative project I have gotten to work on. On top of my full time job, I would come home and text the creative team and stay up till 6/7am (thanks to all the RedBulls I had) and be able to not only design but have fun designing creating cool concepts and layouts teaming up with incredible writers and designers (who are all volunteers and do this ON TOP of their jobs/school) from all over the world to create a physical magazine!!! THE DREAM (well the dream would be to be able to do this full time and get paid haha) I wanted to share on here some bits and pieces of Issue 4: The Nostalgia Issue with Wallows and encourage you all to take a peak at our website and show us some love!!
