This weekend, Plaza hosted the Women Who Submit Conference in Los Angeles, a transformative gathering focused on empowering women and nonbinary writers to submit their work for publication confidently. At its core, Women Who Submit is about creating physical and virtual spaces where writers can share information, support one another, and demystify the submission process. The conference embodied this mission with workshops and panels that were as informative as they were inspiring. From the practicalities of crafting a compelling cover letter to the nuances of finding the right literary journals, the knowledge shared was invaluable. More importantly, the atmosphere was one of collaboration and mutual encouragement—a true reflection of the WWS community spirit. Women Who Submit started with a simple idea: a submission party in a kitchen, where women could set goals, exchange feedback, and hit “send” on their work. Today, it’s grown into a powerful movement with a vibrant network of writers supporting each other’s journeys. Leaving the conference, I’m reminded that submitting our work isn’t just about seeking publication—it’s about claiming our place in the literary world and amplifying voices that need to be heard. To everyone at Women Who Submit, thank you for creating a space where we can grow, share, and succeed together.? #WomenWhoSubmit #LiteraryCommunity #Empowerment #WritingJourney #LosAngeles #PlazadelaRaza
