An Open Letter to the Underdogs-
A few hours ago, my dream came true ?? I stood on the sand at the south tip of Texas and watched Starship take flight. It was an unexpectedly emotional experience.
Starship's 33 rocket engines literally shook my body but also struck a chord so deep inside that my only response was to actually cry.
You see, I didn't just watch a rocket launch. I witnessed an ode to the underdogs.
As she took off, you could feel the pressure and weight she was under. Both the physical weight she was carrying but also the weight of expectation; the lightness of hope and the heaviness of skepticism and doubt.
As she climbed, the pressure mounted. But as the pressure increased, so did her power and strength. It was as if she laughed and said, "watch this" as she, defying all pressure, odds, and opinions, flew faster and stronger than ever. She didn't need your optimism, she didn't need your motivation. She was going to get the job because it was her nature to do so.
To all my underdogs, it too, is your nature to get the job done. To accomplish the unthinkable despite all odds and pressure. It is in your nature.
Let this be your encouragement to dream big and accomplish what others think is crazy but you know is true and possible.
Dream so big you're an underdog.
Go straight after the pressure and as it mounts, you'll get stronger. Regardless of what others (or maybe even what you think), you'll get it done.
It is in your nature to do so.
Thank you for the wonderful reminder SpaceX
