Mental health counseling, consultation, and training for young children, and adults from a social justice framework.

关于我们

PlayfulLeigh Psyched provides online psychotherapy, parent education, professional development, and infant and early childhood educational consultation opportunities. We are a small Black-owned organization led by an experienced mental health and early childhood education professional who advocates for social justice. Furthermore, we specialize in hearing, Deaf, and hard-of-hearing early intervention, prevention, and perinatal mental health services for those who have experienced early adverse events – trauma. All of our services are steeped in understanding trauma and that childhood experiences impact our development and how we interact with one another as adults. Therefore, at PlayfulLeigh Psyched, we provide nurturing family-centered, trauma- and culturally-informed services for people across the lifespan.

Ms. Khamara Harris is a Black cisgender woman, currently she is an intern pursuing licensure as a clinical professional counselor. She is supervised by our very own Dr. Dowtin! Ms. Khamara aims to help Black people and people of the global majority break the cycle of generational trauma while being a safe space for their healing and rejuvenation. Ms. Khamara works with people who have experienced parenting concerns, early childhood tantrums, difficult or traumatic life experiences, anxiety, depression, navigating major life transitions, self-esteem struggles, loneliness, and general emotional regulation challenges. She provides an environment where you feel that she is present and genuine with you while she is getting to know you. Ms. Khamara is now accepting new patients from the District of Columbia (DC), Maryland, Virginia, Missouri, and Florida. She works with people from infancy through adulthood, so she can help you to develop skills and tools that you need to navigate through life, support your mental health and guide them to the path of healing. Khamara’s schedule: Sundays from 1 - 6 PM, Tuesdays from 11 AM - 8 PM, and Thursdays from 11 AM - 7 PM all in Eastern Time.
