关于我们
Inspired by interpreting for his Deaf father as a child at sporting events, Brice Christianson dreamed of having a world where ASL and Sports came together. The dream became a reality as Brice became the first Professional Sports Sign Language Interpreter and the Milwaukee Bucks became the first Professional Sports team to provide sign language interpreting access to the Deaf community. Play-By-Play Sports Interpreting strives to break down barriers one sign at a time within Professional Sports by providing sign language interpreting access to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Sports Fans.

The "NHL in ASL" is back with a first of its kind 'weekly show' with Jason Altmann, Ed.D and Noah Blankenship, MBA, our Deaf co-broadcasters, recapping the top goals and players from Week 1 of the 2024-25 NHL Season in ASL, featuring moments from the Global Series, Utah Hockey Club's first game in the NHL, and more. A round of applause to our amazing partners at National Hockey League (NHL) for their continued belief, support, and recognition of ASL and Deaf representation in professional sports. Deaf sports fans should have ASL access to their league and team's press conferences just like any other fan. Captions are a great and necessary addition, but relying on that solely and calling it a day is missing out on millions in engagement. The National Hockey League (NHL) started providing ASL Interpreting access to their commissioner's address in 2022 and have built their accessibility gameplay over time that resulted in the groundbreaking "NHL in ASL" this past summer. There are 33 million reasons why leagues should adopt this same approach. For each league that has not done this yet, more access leads to more fans. On Sunday, prior to Megan Rapinoe’s jersey retirement ceremony, Brittany Rupik, our very own Deaf performer, performed the National Anthem in ASL on stage. This is such a perfect example of how we can build accessible and inclusive experiences in professional sports. Thank you to Seattle Reign FC for the partnership and continued investment into the Deaf and hard of hearing community. And a round of applause for Brittany for her amazing performance in ASL. One of our favorite things to do is to support other teams and leagues by attending sporting events on our off days. Thanks again to the Barclays Center for having us for our first ever WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) game.

A rare off day lately for the P-X-P: Access in Sports crew as we took in our first ever WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) game last night with the Los Angeles Sparks & New York Liberty. Here's a sneak peek of our trek from Manhattan to Brooklyn as myself, Noah Blankenship, MBA, and Jason Altmann got to see Sabrina Ionescu and her 31 points carry the Liberty to a win last night. Thanks again to the Barclays Center and the New York Liberty for having us! P.S. Game 6 of "NHL in ASL" is tonight on ESPN+ and Sportsnet+ at 8 p.m. ET. ??
