Meet Kenyon Black Kenyon A. Black is a dedicated educator, community leader, and advocate for equity and inclusion. As the Program Director for the Le Moyne College Upward Bound Program, he ensures that Syracuse City School District (SCSD) students receive the academic support necessary to graduate high school and succeed in college. Under his leadership, the program has achieved a 100% high school graduation and college enrollment rate. A Syracuse native, Kenyon holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from Cheyney University and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Le Moyne College. Beyond his professional role, Kenyon is deeply involved in his community. He serves as an adjunct professor at Le Moyne College, an elected board member of the SCSD Foundation, and President of FACES (Nottingham High School PTO). His leadership extends to multiple organizations, including the CNY YMCA, Neighborhood Advisory Committee, and the Racial Justice Committee at Le Moyne College. Meet Marc Jones Marc Jones is a visionary entrepreneur, inventor, and former professional athlete. As the Founder and CEO of Dreissig Apparel Inc. and Fan Hands LLC, he has built award-winning companies specializing in athletic apparel and sports-related innovations. A Syracuse native, Marc excelled as an All-State and All-Northeast U.S. running back before playing football at the University of Tennessee and professionally in the German Football League, where he earned the nickname "Mr. Touchdown." He graduated with a degree in Psychology in 1991 and launched Dreissig Apparel in 1999 to design and manufacture his own brand of athletic gear. Beyond his business success, Marc is deeply committed to community impact. He co-founded and serves as Co-Chairman of the Willow Street Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting local initiatives. Meet Dr. Shanelle R. Dawson Dr. Shanelle R. Dawson is a dynamic leader, entrepreneur, and advocate for equity, education, and community empowerment. As the principal owner of the Global Families of Companies, she has dedicated her career to fostering entrepreneurship, employee engagement, and educational access. Her ventures include ACCESS Global Enterprises, which serves as an umbrella for her businesses, and ACCESS Dental Laboratories, the first 100% African American-owned, woman-led full-service dental lab in the U.S. She also founded Global SAGE Wellness, promoting mindfulness, nutrition, and fitness through yoga, guided meditation, and plant-based nutrition coaching.
