???? Inspiring the Next Generation of Recyclers! ?? We had a fantastic time hosting Ben Davis High School’s 9th-grade chemistry classes at Plastic Recycling Inc.! These students got a hands-on look at how we turn plastic waste into valuable materials and explored the science behind the recycling process. During their visit, they: ?? Conducted a sink-float experiment to see how plastics are separated by density ?? Toured our facility to witness the entire recycling process in action ?? Visited our state-of-the-art lab where we test incoming and outgoing materials It was incredible to see their curiosity and enthusiasm for sustainability and science! We love engaging with future innovators and showing them the real-world impact of plastic recycling. Big thanks to Ben Davis High School for stopping by! This week, Plastic Recycling Inc. had the incredible opportunity to participate in Purdue University Co-op Fair, hosted by the Purdue Office of Professional Practice. It was an amazing event where we engaged with some of Purdue’s brightest students, eager to gain hands-on experience in sustainability, engineering, and innovation. We were specifically interviewing for our R&D Lab Process Engineer Co-op position, a role that plays a key part in advancing recycled plastic technology and sustainable solutions. Our R&D team is focused on improving post-consumer resin quality, optimizing processing methods, and driving innovation in circular plastics. ?? The talent we met was outstanding! We conducted interviews with highly motivated students, all passionate about making a real impact in the industry. Their enthusiasm for engineering and sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission of driving innovation in plastics recycling. A huge thank you to Purdue Office of Professional Practice for organizing such a fantastic event. The Co-Op Program is a game-changer, giving students 12-22 months of real-world experience while building strong relationships with industry leaders. We were honored to host over 75 guests from the National Youth Apprenticeship Summit, organized by CareerWise USA and PAYA, at our facility. It was an exciting opportunity to show how we’re not only committed to sustainability but also to developing the next generation of talent through MAP (Modern Apprenticeship Program) and other apprenticeship initiatives. Our team showcased how youth apprentices are integrated into key areas of our workforce—including HR, R&D, Maintenance, and Production—and how these programs are creating a new pipeline for talent in our industry. Attendees got an up-close view of how we partner with the community to foster workforce development, ensuring a future-ready team. Special thanks to our panelists—Cristina, James, and Jerry—who shared insights on the return on investment (ROI) and challenges of integrating youth apprentices into our workforce from a business perspective. These conversations highlight the value of programs like MAP in shaping both the future of our company and the broader industry.
