Robert Guy Griffin, the Arthur Amos Noyes Professor of Chemistry, has been named the recipient of the?International Zavoisky Award, in honor of his outstanding contributions to development of EPR methodology and its applications in biochemistry and living organisms. Established in 1991 by Professor K.M. Salikhov, this award is recognized internationally as one of the major awards for scientific achievement, and is given in recognition of outstanding applications or developments of electron paramagnetic resonance in any field of science. It is supported by the Zavoisky Physical-Technical Institute in Kazan, the Kazan Federal University, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Springer-Verlag. The International Zavoisky Award is recognized by the AMPERE Society, the International EPR (ESR) Society, and the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Griffin will be honored with a diploma, a medal, and a monetary prize. He will deliver a lecture on his research virtually at the Award Ceremony, to be held later this month in Kazan. The lecture will then be published in?Applied Magnetic Resonance. A large fraction of the Griffin Group’s research effort is devoted to the development of new magnetic resonance techniques to study molecular structure and dynamics. https://lnkd.in/eF6HcPn4
