Here’s how to keep things smooth from start to finish: ?? Align on goals & build a timeline – Before diving into details, get clear on why you’re hosting the event, who should attend, and what success looks like. Then, work backward to set key deadlines. ?? Decide on budget responsibilities early – Who’s covering what? Lock in the financial split upfront so there are no surprises down the road. ?? Dial in the details – What’s the format? Is this a content-driven event or purely networking? Will it be a sit-down meal or light bites? Is there co-branded swag? Hash these out early. ?? Align on promotion & registration – Who’s building the landing page? Who owns registrations? What channels will each team use to drive sign-ups? Make sure both teams are pulling their weight. ?? Balance internal attendees – Decide how many employees from each company should attend so guests aren’t outnumbered by staff. The goal is meaningful networking, not an internal meetup. Today’s pipeline is tomorrow’s revenue. ?? To secure that revenue, here’s a simple event strategy you should consider experimenting with *now* to drive deals for the second half of the fiscal year: ? Host two field marketing events either this summer or fall. ? Do one in a city that’s a hub for customers. Focus on delighting them, and you’ll strengthen relationships (and subsequently secure retention and expansion). Do another in a city that’s a hub for prospects. You’ll stand out from your competitors and tip the scale in your company’s favor when it comes time to sign on the dotted line. These events could be intimate dinners, cooking classes, sporting events, or even city excursions, like a riverboat ride or segway tour.
