My presence at Cornell included 4 years of graduate school (MS, PhD), 25 years on the faculty, and 24 years very active professor, author and speaker as emeritus professor. It also included a very handsomely funded experimental research program on nutrition and cancer. But corporate interests then took over and did everything they could to destroy the evidence because it did not please their corporate bottom line. Unfortunately I had a program that was meant to support human health. I treasured my relationship with my students but a few very important super charged administrators thought otherwise. Passion + Purpose Dream Job ?? We absolutely LOVE doing what we truly feel we were called to do. God has been leading us on a journey, first with our own health and now with equipping and empowering others to take care of their body temple with abundant, colorful, nutrient dense, fiber-filled foods and other positive lifestyle choices. We pour our love into our guests at our Immersive Whole Foods Plant-Based Cooking & Wellness Retreats in beautiful beachside South Haven, Michigan. It wasn’t an easy call to answer. We have faced many challenges: funding the startup with our own savings, starting a retreat business during the pandemic in 2020, finding the right way to market our business to reach the right audience and get enough bookings, just two of us doing everything from finances, marketing, purchasing and running the retreat to cleaning up dishes and vacuuming floors, etc. However, saying “yes!” to Him has allowed us to do work that we are passionate about and has led to great impact and beautiful sense of #purpose. And while we may still be working on building a sustainable income, God continues to provide. We have become rich in blessings. We do what we love, and we love what we do. What is Your dream job?
