PlanRVA celebrates Native American Heritage Month and the good work and friendship with one of our Tribal parnters, the Chickahominy Indian Tribe. We know that we are on a journey, and feel so proud of our collaborative efforts in the Lower Chickahominy Watershed Collaborative, the #DontTrashCentralVirginia initiative and the care of the environment we share. We are particularly grateful to Chief Adkins and Tribal Environment Director, @DanaAdkins whose tireless efforts on environmental issues have helped ensure the a more sustainable, equitable environment for generations to come.

PlanRVA is the regional planning district commission for RVA. Our Mission: “Partnering to enable outcomes that matter for our Region” Our purpose is "...to encourage and facilitate local government cooperation and state-local cooperation in addressing, on a regional basis, problems of greater than local significance. [This] cooperation facilitates the recognition and analysis of regional opportunities and takes into consideration regional influences in planning and implementing public policies and services. Our priorities are focused on issues that serve the region including: Transportation, Emergency Management, Environment, and Community Development.
