Planned Parenthood of Maryland Inc.’s care coordination is not possible without PPM donors. What do we mean by “care coordination,” and how can you support it? Last week, PPM donors joined us for a Lunch & Learn session at Gunther & Co. in Baltimore City to hear from Robert Nunez, PPM’s Director of Patient Access, about how their contributions are directly expanding health care access for our patients. Since 2020, PPM has coordinated funding to help cover the cost of abortion care for our patients. As of January 2024, we established a formal in-house Patient Access Team and expanded our scope of work to include logistical support such as travel assistance. The team works closely with the Baltimore Abortion Fund, the DC Abortion Fund (DCAF), and other trusted partners to ensure that no patients are prevented from getting essential health care due to a lack of resources. In November 2023, Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Upstream announced a joint initiative to expand access to contraceptive care throughout the state. Nelson spoke about the national climate around birth control access; entry points for expanding birth control access locally, particularly for vulnerable communities; and possible challenges to sustaining expanded access after the Moore administration–Upstream partnership ends. ?? Introducing Planned Parenthood of Maryland Inc.’s new Vice President of Human Resources, Blaine Riggs, MBA, SHRM-SCP! Blaine Riggs joins PPM’s senior management team with more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources and people operations in the international retail and food and beverage sectors. Most recently, he served as Regional Human Resources Director for the international grocery chain Lidl, helping to introduce the brand to the US and build a team of 1,700 across the five states in his region. He is also a member of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association, Inc; the Society of Human Resources Management Association; and the Project Management Institute. Today, Gov. Wes Moore signed SB 119 into law. The bill protects patients and providers of legal gender-affirming care in Maryland from out-of-state attacks and is a crucial step in ensuring Planned Parenthood of Maryland Inc. and all local providers can meet increasing demand for this essential health care. ????? Today marks two years since the leak of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision. In just two years, we've seen Roe v.
