PlaneWave is committed to providing observatory-class products for serious astronomers at an unprecedented value.

关于我们

We design and manufactured high-end telescopes optimized to have pin-point stars across large fields of view. Most telescopes designs suffer from off axis aberations. Our design, the CDK, offers a flat, coma free and astigmatic free field of view. This is ideal for visual and CCD imaging.

  • This week's #repost goes to Ani Shastry!?? "Bode’s Galaxy, also known as Messier 81, is a stunning grand-design spiral galaxy located about 12 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. It is one of the most magnificent and well-studied galaxies in the M81 Group, a collection of galaxies that includes the nearby Cigar Galaxy (M82) and several smaller members. M81 features well-defined spiral arms with intricate lanes of dust, young blue star clusters, and glowing regions of star formation. Its nucleus is bright and compact, housing a supermassive black hole estimated to be about 70 million solar masses — one of the most massive known in nearby galaxies. I have previously captured M 81 and M 82 in wider field of view using the Dreamscope 16" Newtonian, however my @planewaveinstruments CDK24 allowed me really go deep on the galaxy and the surrounding IFN. The field of view with an IMX 455 sensor is just barely enough to capture this. The number of clear nights, and seeing, haven't been that great this winter over the northern skies, and this was certainly true at @sierra_remote_observatories. It took about 55 hours of data, of which around 40 were usable, for capturing this image. The majority of processing was done within PixInsight, with some final tweaks in Photoshop and Affinity Photo 2. Captured from my remote setup at Sierra Remote Observatories in Auberry, California: PlaneWave CDK600 Observatory System ZWO ASI6200MM Pro Camera Chroma L, R, G, B and 5nm Ha Filters L: 66x600s, R: 23x600s, G: 41x300s, B: 40x300s, Ha: 93x600s (40.33 hours) Processed in PixInsight, Adobe Photoshop and Affinity Photo 2" Tag us to be featured!???

  • This week's #repost goes to Mike Selby!?? "NGC 2264, in the constellation Monoceros, is a star-forming region that includes the Cone Nebula, the Fox Fur Nebula, and the Christmas Tree Cluster. This is a very popular object in astrophotography and is always fun to revisit. The Cone Nebula appears as a dark, pillar-like structure shaped by radiation from young, hot stars. Surrounding emission and reflection nebulae highlight ionized gas and dust-scattered starlight. The Fox Fur Nebula is a complex region of emission and reflection nebulae, where dust and gas create intricate, filamentary structures. The blue hues result from scattered starlight, while red areas indicate ionized gas. The Christmas Tree Cluster consists of young, massive stars that drive ionization and shape the region’s structure. This image was processed using the Hubble Palette (SHO) for nebulosity and RGB for star color, enhancing details in the gas and dust while keeping the stars natural. Imaged in SHO narrowband and RGB on my PlaneWave DR350 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
