PlaneWave is committed to providing observatory-class products for serious astronomers at an unprecedented value.
关于我们
We design and manufactured high-end telescopes optimized to have pin-point stars across large fields of view. Most telescopes designs suffer from off axis aberations. Our design, the CDK, offers a flat, coma free and astigmatic free field of view. This is ideal for visual and CCD imaging.

This week's #repost goes to Kevin Morefield!?? "NGC 3169 | The Snow Globe Galaxy *** This beautiful spiral seems set into a twee snow globe scene, fully enveloped in dust and gas. Slide right and we see a faintly blue bridge connecting 3169 to its partner NGC 3166. But 3166 seems mostly undisturbed. This week's #repost goes to #APOD winner Harry Karamitsos!?? "A Cosmic Rose: NGC 2237 in Monoceros The Rosette Nebula, NGC 2237, is not the only cosmic cloud of gas and dust to evoke the imagery of flowers, but it is probably the most famous. At the edge of a large molecular cloud in Monoceros some 5,000 light years away, the petals of this cosmic rose are actually a stellar nursery. The lovely, symmetric shape is sculpted by the winds and radiation from its central cluster of hot young, O-type stars. Stars in the energetic cluster, cataloged as NGC 2244, are only a few million years young, while the central cavity in the Rosette Nebula, is about 50 light-years in diameter. The nebula can be seen with a small telescope toward the constellation of Monoceros, the Unicorn. This natural appearing telescopic portrait of the Rosette Nebula was made using broadband color filters, but sometimes roses aren't red." Congratulations to Daniel Roelker, Richard Hedrick, and the newly formed Observable Space team on the merger between OurSky and PlaneWave Instruments. In 2022, Dan and Alex created Oursky to make space observational data more accessible, accurate, and useful to the entire ecosystem from space startups to government & defense, big tech, and academic institutions. Over the past two years, the team has built a developer platform, similar to AWS for compute or Stripe for payments, allowing users to build applications on top of Oursky’s real-time data feeds from its proprietary network of telescopes. Enter PlaneWave, the most advanced manufacturer of telescopes in the world. What began as a partnership - allowing PlaneWave customers to access the Oursky platform and ingest their own imaging data, while expanding Oursky’s network through PlaneWave’s distribution - naturally evolved into the merger of the two companies. The result is Observable Space, bringing together hardware and software solutions under one roof to better serve customers. Last September, Rick gave us a tour of PlaneWave’s headquarters in Adrian, Michigan, where 100% of its telescopes are made. Rick has been building telescopes since 1991, when he convinced his physics professor at El Camino College to start a telescope making class with 10 of his classmates (the class still exists today). Fifteen years later, he founded PlaneWave Instruments, pioneering the telescope manufacturing industry and supplying leading organizations such as NASA and top astronomy institutions. Can’t imagine a better team to go after this market. Onwards! Link to press release: https://lnkd.in/egbB4gV9
