Yesterday, we had the opportunity to present and demonstrate Planetary Systems AI's work along with our partners and colleagues at the SDA TAP Lab's Apollo Accelerator with Lt. General David Miller, Commander of Space Operations Command and Chief Master Sergeant Caleb Lloyd. We were thrilled to showcase our development progress in?PSAI's capabilities, featuring AI models that analyze?unknown, hidden, and potential threats?in space. Our work includes insights on?vehicle launches, payload capabilities, and life expectancy, all contributing to a threat catalog — enhanced by image processing capabilities and analysis that can infer payload capacity. Our proprietary AI models enable?behavioral and pattern-of-life analyses?in the space domain, equipping United States Space Force orbital analysts?with critical intelligence to enhance?strategic decision-making and prevent operational surprises, again reinforcing the importance of?space domain awareness for national security. ?? Chief Space Office Log 2025.0311: Sat Spotlight at SatShow It was a high-energy packed day in Washington DC yesterday for Planetary Systems AI at SATELLITE 2025. I had the privilege to pitch PSAI to a panel of judges at the Unveiled Theater in the middle of the Exposition Floor. Bringing in an attendance of approximately 15,000 people in 2024, it is one of the premiere showcases for space startups. I spoke about the critical need and why a vibrant flow of data is necessary and critical for AI in use cases such as space domain awareness, milestones and traction, and a glimpse of how PSAI is leveraging synthetic data generation in our models and intelligence platform, why it is happening now to capitalize on a $100M commercial market opportunity at the application layer. As a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Datanaut and former International SpaceApps judge, witnessed first-hand the challenges globally of open-source unstructured data to build a demo or APIs at the data level in 2023 alone - 163 countries and up to 95,500 participants/15,000 teams across the world comprised of some the brightest minds on the planet. (More in a post later.) The convention was busy with side meetings, keynotes and panels about the industry and for anyone who ininterested in learning about space, it is a terrific place to start. With a more commercial focus and “look” this year, a lot of activity was happening including the discussions of the U.S. Department of Defense acquiring more commercial technologies such as software with two executive memorandums signed within a week of each other and announcing a shift from billion-dollar legacy programs which has already been happening since last fall. It was great to receive so much support from the community and friends across the space industry from launch to VC investors, including Mark Boggett and the Seraphim Space Accelerator/ Seraphim Space/ Generation Space team as alumni of Cohort 14. It was also thrilling to be on the docket with fellow SDA TAP Lab colleagues from the Apollo Accelerator and SDA customer Douglas Deok-Soo Kim of SPACEMAP from South Korea and having two SDA companies and a few AI #spacetech highlighted. The winner and runner-up of the SatShow Pitch Competition will be announced today and it was an honor to be included amongst the ten companies competing. Science Goals and Objectives: How is NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration doing science? NASA’s SPHEREx observatory will create a 3D map of the entire sky in 102 colors (each an individual wavelength of light) to help scientists answer big-picture questions about the origins of our universe, galaxies, and key ingredients for life in our galaxy, such as water. While this all-sky map can be used for a wide variety of science investigations, the SPHEREx mission will focus on three key science goals: ????? Create a 3D map of hundreds of millions of galaxies in order to study inflation, which is the rapid expansion of the universe by a trillion-trillion-fold in less than a second after the big bang. ? Measure the total collective glow of galaxies near and far, including the light from sources that may be hidden or haven’t yet been individually observed, such as faint or distant galaxies or populations of stars that have been pushed to peripheries of galaxies. ??Search the Milky Way galaxy for hidden reservoirs of water, carbon dioxide, and other essential ingredients for life, and measure their abundance and availability for newly forming planets. This double-header mission is targeted to liftoff on Friday, February 28th from Vandenberg Space Force Base Launchpad 4E with a launch window beginning at 10:09 pm EST/7:09 PM PST.
