“In an age of increasing complexity, polarization, and disinformation, the world needs independent, authoritative, timely, and, above all, trusted sources of information as never before. One of Planet's key roles is acting as an independent source of truth - one that cannot be spun or denied. This was demonstrated again recently by Human Rights Watch and The Guardian Newspaper, as they found evidence in our satellite imagery of new atrocities perpetrated by the Myanmar army in Rakhine State: https://lnkd.in/eEFusZ6”

What is a Public Benefits Corportation?Carbon Neutral
Planet has been certified as a Carbon Neutral company for the year 2020. Of interest (but not surprising, if you think about it): the emissions impact of, say, launching satellites into space turns out to be a small fraction of, say, employee commuting or purchased goods and service. Most of everyone's carbon footprint is generated in the mundane things, not the esoteric. We are on a journey not just to offset, but to reduce our emissions and environmental impact to the maximum extent possible.
Planet Pulse - Carbon NeuturalCOP Summits
Our technologies are designed to monitor and classify changes everywhere on Earth, every day. The data we produce are essential ingredients in independent, trusted climate indicators that can make visible what’s happened in the past, help guide informed action in the present, and improve transparency and reporting to guide decisions in the future.
