More specific research shows that the projected job growth rate for grant writers is closer to 6% in the next five years and that there are currently more than 16,000 active grant writer job openings (Zippia, 2024.)? There are many roles a grant writer can play, but to master that skill set, you will likely become a certified grant writer. There are several ways to become certified. Swipe through to read a brief introduction, and see the link here: https://lnkd.in/gg7dx7Nr for a full rundown on grant writing certifications. #grantwriter #grantwriting #writingprofessional #career #education #grantwritingclass #bestgrantwriting

What happens if your grant award is terminated???? ?? This was a question and topic of a session at the NGMA Conference. Let's review some situations that have happened IRL to federal award recipients and subrecipients: *?? An award was terminated after 7 pm on a Friday night, leaving little room for a response during business hours. *?? Subrecipients are not even aware that the award is terminated until they try to drawdown funding, only to find out that they have no access to their PMS (payment management system). *?? Lack of responsiveness from program officers on any guidance or advisement of next steps. These are tricky situations. So, what SHOULD you do if a grant is terminated? Some recommendations are below: ?? Check your terms and conditions to see if you have any legal standing against the award terminations. Different awards have different conditions (especially with a new clause added in the Uniform Guidance on 10/1/24). Also, check your agreements with subrecipients and contractors. ?? Notify subrecipients and contractors immediately to issue stop work orders. They cannot continue spending funds against the award once you receive a termination notice. ?? Maintain documentation of all your termination activities (including communication), as you can recoup funding on specific expenses. Ensure these expenses are coded separately in your accounting system from the grant code(s) associated with your awards. The biggest takeaway is not to panic, as there are clear steps to follow if this situation arises. Need more guidance? As always, feel free to DM or email me.
