This is so encouraging! #challengeyourself #sticktoit #empowering
“Trained a lot. Cried a lot. Discovered my grit.” She challenged herself. She intentionally DECIDED to make a change in her life. That was my favorite part about Jennifer Brown's post. She simply made a decision and stuck to it—and it paid off. Not only did she accomplish what she set out to do, but she learned so much about what she was capable of. Any one of us can learn from this. It’s all about challenging ourselves, pushing past the limits, and discovering just how much grit and resilience we truly have. Your Monday mantra, as she puts it: You are wildly capable. ?? @thisiowamom via Instagram

It's so good to know we are not alone in this struggle. We can do it afraid!

You can be an Olympic champion and still struggle with imposter syndrome. When Suni Lee won the All-around gold medal in the 2020 Olympics, she told ESPN, "I feel like after the Olympics, there's just been so much doubt …. I think I just put in my head that I didn't deserve to win." Lee said the intense fame she realized after the Olympics also led to anxiety so crippling she considered pulling out of her college gymnastics meets. It’s important to remeber that star athletes are HUMAN. I mean, of course she felt doubt and imposter feelings - she was so far out of her comfort zone and thrust into a national stage. If there’s one place the ego hates to be is that uncomfortable, ambiguous and new place that is our growth edge. Remember that doubt, nerves and uncertainty are all normal, healthy human emotions and we will feel them any time we stretch ourselves to new heights. (There are people who don’t feel these feelings - like sociopaths ??) You can pursue your goals well WHILE ALSO feeling these feelings, just like Suni, who tumbled her way to a gold and two bronze medals in this year’s Olympics. What helps you do a courageous thing while also feeling doubtful? #womenleaders #careers #confidence #leadershipdevelopment
