This is just some of the material salvaged from the initial deconstruction phase at?Watershed Row?. Being able to reuse materials that had a previous life in the same building means that this project gets to cut down its carbon footprint immensely, and its thanks to a great group of people. This project team knows that every minute, decision, and material on a project counts and we are lucky to work with people who don't waste those. Thank you?Watershed Row,?Adroit Construction Co., Inc.?,?BNA Consulting?,?Capital Engineering?, Adkins Engineering & Surveying, Zero Envy. Read more about this project here: https://lnkd.in/gXGRC8E8

We are loving the look so far of the cross laminated timber on the new Discovery Center at Zion National Park. Our team has enjoyed working alongside Place Collaborative and OVERLAND Partners on this beautiful CLT project. We think it is beautiful already and we're excited to see the finished project soon! We also recommend checking out Place Collaborative and OVERLAND Partners' websites for more details.

Recently, we got to pay a visit to a really cool project we’ve been having fun working on alongside?OVERLAND Partners? and Dunn Associates, Inc.: the new Discovery Center at Zion National Park!?( Zion National Park ) ?( Zion Mountain Ranch ) Those Cross Laminated Timber walls (#CLT) are not only looking great already, but they help the project target a lower carbon footprint by avoiding higher carbon alternatives, sequestering carbon naturally, and being sustainably sourced with SFI, PEFC and FSC wood (shout out to the Forest Stewardship Council?). Read more about this project here: https://lnkd.in/gnhtcm3z , and in Overland Partners’ projects tab on their site, under the ‘experiential’ project typology! Feat.: a picture of the Narrows for general context and good measure.

We had great turnout for the ground breaking event on Watershed Row! Members of the Klamath Falls area community showed up to celebrate and talk about the project and its sustainability goals! As we move into the construction phase, it is a great reminder that for a project aiming to be a Living Building, every person on the team is essential in achieving those goals; from design team, to construction team, to owners and occupants of the building! Follow along on our feed, placecollab.com , and via?watershedrow.org #adaptivereuse?#livingbuildingchallenge

If you followed the flow of your local creek or waterway, where would it take you? Read about a journey that follows one of our local creeks in Utah as it weaves and permeates through infrastructure, policy and time, on our blog: https://lnkd.in/girhtaeD There is also an excellent description about what a watershed is on Watershedrow.org

What does sustainability mean in the context of our education system? It could look like schools with better indoor air quality, student involvement in their local food system and better building materials. It turns out, there are many definitions of a sustainable school! Read more in our “Sustainability in K-12 Education” Altitude Adjustment blog post! https://lnkd.in/gUVgTQTQ
