PKMR's very own Kate Dennis was honored to attend Friday's #IGED Luncheon last week: "On Friday, I volunteered as a mentor at the Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) put on by the Kansas City chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) to introduce high school students to the engineering industry. This year was the 15th anniversary of #IGED in KC. There were opportunities for students to ask current engineers specifics about their jobs and disciplines, a college fair to learn about local universities offering engineering programs, a hands-on activity to get students thinking about what it takes to complete an engineering task, and plenty of chances to mingle with women in engineering fields. It was a great time to give back and hopefully inspire young women to pursue?careers in engineering." #engineersofthefuture #femaleengineers
