?? Teaching Kindness and Generosity in Room 12 ?? This week, our Room 12 students had a heartfelt discussion during circle time about kindness, compassion, and generosity. We talked about the importance of helping others and how donating to those in need is a meaningful Mitzvah. Today, our students put these values into action by donating canned food as part of our Canned Food Drive & Color Week! ?? Donations will be given to Second Harvest Food Bank. Meet Kibbutz Be'eri: A Story of Strength and Resilience Kibbutz Be'eri, established in 1946 in the western Negev, has long been a thriving, values-driven community near Gaza, home to over 1,200 residents, including 340 children. Known for its pioneering industries in agriculture, cycling, printing, and more, it’s a cornerstone of life in the region. On October 7, tragedy struck. The kibbutz endured a devastating attack by Hamas terrorists, leaving 102 lives lost, 31 kidnapped (10 still in Gaza), and homes, businesses, and communal spaces destroyed. The community’s strength is now being tested as they rebuild their lives. ?? Be’eri Today: 200 members have returned, while others are finding temporary homes across Israel. Reconstruction efforts are underway, with industries like agriculture and printing slowly resuming. Programs for mental health, education, and support are helping residents heal. ?? The Vision Ahead: Be’eri is committed to rebuilding stronger than ever. Plans include: Strengthening community resilience and providing emotional support. Revitalizing key industries like dairy farming and bike tourism. Restoring communal spaces through a major capital campaign. This community remains an anchor for the region, demonstrating incredible perseverance and unity. ??
