Starting the new year with two award nominations? That is the news we like to hear! ?? We're excited to share we've been shortlisted in the MCA Insight - Leaders in Eating & Drinking Out Market Insight Hospitality Awards for two categories; Best Omnichannel Brand and Best Use of Technology for our industry leading loyalty scheme, the PizzaExpress Club. Being omnichannel has always been in our DNA as we are obsessed with reaching our pizza fans no matter how they want their pizza – whether that be dine-in, click & collect, delivery or choosing it from the shelves of the supermarket. As the original casual dining brand in supermarkets over 20 years ago we still proudly have the number one selling salad dressing, and number one branded chilled pizza and fresh pizza dough proposition in the category… epic, right? ?? This exciting news builds on our mission to reach our pizza fans no matter where they are, with our ambition to reach 1,000 restaurants globally (including the UK) by 2030. ?? ? We're delighted to be partnering with Purple Square Management Co, a leading US franchisee founded in Tampa, Florida, to give pizza fans Dough Balls on demand, Margaritas with Margheritas or a Peroni with a Padana.? ? It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas ???? The rumours are true - everyone's favourite, Snowball Dough Balls are back. ?? Thanks to the innovative work from our incredible Food team Jane Treasure, Victoria Johnston, Antenor Siqueira, Mike Bithell, Kate Beall (ANutr), Rhys Mathieson and Steph Archer, we are going even bigger this year with a whole host of delicious dishes, from Dough Balls in Blankets, to our Romana Christmas Feast (think Christmas dinner on a pizza ??), Romana Figgy Formaggi (white wine marinated figs on a pizza? Sign us up!), a Romana Mushroom & Truffle, and Festive Sprouts. But the true star of the show? This month at PizzaExpress HQ we were thrilled to hear first hand from the successful applicants of our School and College Leavers Academy. They have joined us on a three-year programme as they grow their career from entry-level Shift Managers to budding General Managers. ? ? But that's not all - they'll also gain a fully-funded degree qualification at the same time. Through this training, when completed, they will finish the programme with a Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (Business & Management) ?? ? Something close to our hearts at PizzaExpress is our Long Service Award Programme. Our people are what makes us the PizzaExpress you know and love, so this month, we took a moment to celebrate our long servers who have worked at PizzaExpress for a sterling 25 years. Martinis were sipped and Dough Balls were dipped with the magical lights of London sparkling behind us at our London Bankside pizzeria as we thanked our team members for their dedicated service. ???? There are three things we are obsessed with at PizzaExpress – great tasting pizza, memorable experiences and arguably the most important, our amazing team who have been with us for a quarter of a century.? Our favourite part of the evening? Hearing our team share some of their memories from the past 25 years... in fact, our Aberdeen General Manager Caroline Sheils, who started with us back in 1999, shared her memories of serving famed designer Jeff Banks and being known as her local area's 'Pizza Lady'... but her proudest moment?
