I am filled with gratitude today. Last night's Play for Pets event proved that Pittsburgh comes through for those in need---and not just the humans! Collectively, we have raised over $17,500 in financial and in-kind donations! I'm talking hundreds of cans of food, over 100 leashes/collars/harnesses, nearly 300 cat treats and hundreds of dog treats and bones, dozens of grooming kits, and many beds and crates. Shout out to my incredible sponsors for Play for Pets: John Lovelace, Adrienne Walnoha, and Allegheny County Housing Authority. Thank you for supporting those with pets who find themselves at Second Avenue Commons! Additionally, these pet supply companies have collectively donated nearly $9,000 in supplies to the shelter: Frontier Distributing, Inc. (from local independent pet retailers), Max and Neo Dog Gear, Up Country Inc., Nylabone, Armarkat Pet Products, and Spectrum Brands, Inc. Thank you for your company's generosity and support! Thank you to everyone who supported and attended last night. My heart is full of thanks and gratitude. Pittsburgh is incredible.
