On Friday, October 11, the Pirates front office traded their laptops for gloves and bats at our annual Employee Softball Tournament!??? This event is more than just a game – it’s a tribute to the late Shawn Gaertner, a beloved former sales representative and standout athlete from North Hills. Shawn's legacy lives on as we honor his incredible contributions, including his pivotal role in transitioning hundreds of Season Ticket Holders and groups from Three Rivers Stadium to PNC Park. The tournament brought together over 100 Pirates front office staff and the Gaertner family for a day filled with friendly competition and team bonding. Team Red, led by Grant Van Buren and Mitch Stubbs, clinched victory in the thrilling 8-team, double-elimination showdown! This year’s MVP, Will Lawton, received the prestigious award in honor of Shawn Gaertner, and is pictured below with the Gaertner family.

For every strikeout by a Pirates pitcher from the 2024 season, Koppers Inc. donated to local charities that help better the lives of people in the Pittsburgh community every day. This season, a total of $67,800 was raised, benefiting Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, March of Dimes, Junior Achievement of Western PA, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Breakthrough T1D Western & Central PA (formerly JDRF).

During the 2024 Season, we joined forces with Giant Eagle, Inc. for the second consecutive year to fundraise through the Giant Eagle Loyalty Card Discount Program, one of our longstanding fan value ticket discount offers. A portion of each ticket sold this past season went to 412 Food Rescue, a volunteer-driven local nonprofit that prevents surplus food waste.? ? This season, the program raised an impressive total of $16,026! To celebrate the donation, volunteers from Giant Eagle and the Pirates Front Office along with Pirates Alum, Neil Walker, and the Pirate Parrot participated in 412 Food Rescue's grocery bagging program!

Flexible schedule to work 70% of home games (57 of 81) + community events (nights, weekends, holidays). ?? Ability to obtain Act 33, 34, and 73 clearances within 60 days of hire. ?? At least one semester of college credit preferred. ?? Edgar Snyder & Associates and the Pirates are doubling down on food insecurity this season. For every Pirates Double Play, Edgar Snyder will donate $50 to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This month, the Pirates turned 25 double plays, making the donation $1,250.
