“Governor Shapiro and I are all in on life sciences,” Rick Siger, Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development Secretary, said at the TEConomy Partners event we hosted last month. “We're excited about things happening in life sciences all across Pennsylvania, but we’re particularly excited about things happening here, in southwest Pennsylvania and in Pittsburgh.” ???? Secy. Siger's excitement was echoed throughout the day by companies who chose Pittsburgh as the town to pursue their innovative endeavors. ? “We know that efforts like this one, that Megan Kahn Shaw is leading, are helping to position us as a global leader,” he said. “It takes this kind of collaboration to win in innovation, to win in development, to win in manufacturing. You have our commitment.”

David Hallal and ElevateBio are betting on Pittsburgh. ???? “You can’t stop innovation, and that’s what we’re betting on,” David Hallal, CEO, Chair, and Co-Founder at ElevateBio said at our TEConomy Partners event in October. “We don't want to just settle on how we manufacture today; we want to think about unique ways to push the industry forward, share in the IP that we create together, and make the world a better place through work with the academic centers and investigators here.”????????????????

The Pittsburgh Life Sciences Alliance is excited to join the BioBreakfast community tomorrow (Tuesday, November 19th) for a presentation and networking. Experts consistently rank the Pittsburgh region among the world's top 20 emerging life sciences hubs. PLSA recently released a report that identifies two “growth platforms” where Pittsburgh has a distinct advantage, differentiated from other global clusters. The report also outlines a set of strategic recommendations that, together, can help us move from an emerging ecosystem to a true global hub for human health innovation.
