Pirani Life founders grew tired of seeing litter scattered across their beautiful beaches. This motivated them to design the first vacuum-insulated red party cup and put a stop to the billions of single-use plastic cups that are tossed every year. Danielle Del Sordo and Brandegee Pierce were raised in South Florida and are ocean enthusiasts and activists. Our team in the community!
At Pirani Life , giving back is built into our DNA—it’s even in our employee handbook. This past weekend, our team volunteered at cleanups in two cities, but let’s be real: cleanups aren’t the solution. They are helpful to manage current pollution levels and protect wildlife. In Asheville, Bo joined the Silver-Line Park Cleanup, helping clear post-Hurricane Helene debris hosted by the @townofwoodfinnc in collaboration with @mtntrue and @avlgreenworks . Meanwhile, Danielle and Brandegee were visiting Miami and volunteered at the @ultra Music Festival Shoreline Cleanup, where local organizations - @cleanmiamibeach @debrisfreeoceans @byebyeplasticlife @miamidadeseaturtles led the charge in removing 529 pounds of trash from Bayfront Park. We participate in cleanups to raise awareness, but the reality is that trash will keep piling up until we cut it off at the source. That’s why we advocate for reducing and reusing—small changes in our daily lives make a huge impact. In Asheville, post-Hurricane Helene cleanups feel different. Community efforts are amazing, but without official resources, the road to recovery remains long. Let’s keep the conversation going—how do we push for change at the source? Our co-founder (and my husband) Brandegee Pierce is always wanting to help people.? It's something I've loved about him since we met 12 years ago. That + his inventive spirit has created a mobile shower out of our Pirani van! ?? (And is using the portable sink as the heating component.) Our amazing friends came over and helped us build it on the fly till midnight last night. Today, approximately 45 people got a hot shower in Black Mountain and Swannanoa NC at the BP gas station who were there for food, water and clothing.? Although it only feels like a drop in the bucket, we are grateful to contribute with the resources we have, and it was nice for our team to enjoy a hot shower as well! Thank you Samaritan's Purse for allowing us to fill this 275 gallon tank and for our inspirational community out there doing amazing work we see on our feeds each day ???? (as our phone data slowly comes back to life ??). The ask: We are interested in clean towel donations that people wouldn't want back. We plan to donate the towel for the person to take with them after their shower and need about 40-50 per day until the water comes back. Tomorrow we will be posted at @bountyandsoul for their volunteers in the morning and BP gas station approximately 4-6pm (although today we were there till 8...), if you know anyone living in that area who hasn't found close by access to a clean shower, let them know! If you know of other communities in need, let us know and we'll try to add their location to our route. ??
