Congratulations to Minnesota-based 4C Medical Technologies, Inc.?on their recent $175M Series D financing, led by Boston Scientific. 4C Medical is the developer of the AltaValve? System, a device developed to treat mitral valve regurgitation (“MR”). The proceeds from this financing will be utilized to support and accelerate the company’s ongoing global pivotal trial. MR is the most common and consequential coronary valvular (structural heart) disease with ~5 million people in the U.S. currently suffering from moderate to severe MR. The AltaValve represents a paradigm shift in MR treatment as its atrial fixation bypasses the complexity and variability of the mitral annulus and left ventricle preserving critical cardiac structures and native hemodynamics to provide a treatment option for a broad number of MR patients. ?
