It’s only now that I’ve had a moment to sit back and really reflect on everything I took away from the Pipeline Conference—and wow, what an incredible experience! A huge thank you to Sam Nelson for hosting such an amazing event in Austin. Sam, you’re not just an incredible organizer but a truly wonderful person. It was inspiring to see how much fun you were having because it mirrored the energy in the room—everyone was having a blast while soaking up so much knowledge. I walked away with so many insights and actionable stats that I can’t wait to implement. The session on SDR Career Progression by Marleyna Mohler gave me a ton to think about, Philip Jansen’s breakdown of Compensation Plans was incredibly helpful, and the stats that Melanie Smith and Rohan Suri shared—well, they’ve already started helping us book meetings! ?? One key takeaway for me was a realization about the unique qualities of SDR leaders. Most of us had the skills to transition into account executive roles shortly after starting our SDR careers. But for me, I chose to stay in Sales Development, a path less traveled, because I saw the limitless potential it offers. Sam exemplifies the opportunities that lie ahead in this field, and I’m grateful he created a space to connect with like-minded leaders who share a passion for driving team success and company performance over individual recognition. For me, Sales Development isn’t just about deals—though I still love closing them (ask me about my weekend gig at Team Nashville selling running shoes! ??♂?). As an SDR manager, I know I can have a far-reaching impact on my team and the organizations we serve. Thank you again, Sam, and to everyone I had the chance to meet at the conference.
