Today, we celebrated a major milestone at the Acrisure Amphitheater as the final steel beam was placed in the venue’s canopy! ??? It’s an exciting moment for this transformative project in Grand Rapids, made possible through the collaboration of our partners Barton Malow and Progressive Companies. Exciting progress at the Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids, Michigan! The columns are rising, and the steel structural nodes, each weighing 16,000 pounds, are now in place to support the nearly 2-million-pound canopy. Barton Malow and Pioneer Construction are excited to help bring this amphitheater to life. Stay tuned for more updates on this transformative project!

Columns have been going up here and there at the Acrisure Amphitheater, and now the big ones are going vertical! With the CAST CONNEX nodes in place Steel Supply & Engineering Company and LPR Construction are installing the six key columns that support the beautiful canopy designed by Progressive Companies. It takes a village to support this this type construction and i would like to give a shout out to Ruby+Associates, a Degenkolb Company and Universal Detailing, Inc. who had the job of detailing all the steel and connections to ensure the perfect fit! Pioneer Construction and Barton Malow again thank Grand Action 2.0 for bringing this amazing project to City of Grand Rapids!

And the AIA Grand Rapids 2024 Sustainability Design Award goes to... Belknap Place Apartments! The LEED Gold Certified project has been previously recognized by AIA GR, taking home the 2023 Affordable Housing Honor Award. This project is proof that the work Integrated Architecture, and many others, have put into championing sustainable design principles over the years is paying off. And we're off! The first truss is set for the Acrisure Amphitheatre. Pioneer Construction and Barton Malow are proud to build this amazing project with Grand Action 2.0 and Progressive Companies. Together, we're transforming the City of Grand Rapids skyline one truss at a time.

MEDC staff were thrilled to celebrate alongside Battle Creek Unlimited at a ribbon cutting for the new DoubleTree by Hilton in City of Battle Creek, Michigan. This project was many years in the making and required the support and cooperation of many local, regional, and state partners. Congratulations to the whole team on their hard work to bring this vision to life! As so many of the speakers at the ribbon cutting said, this is a project that will be hugely impactful in supporting a more vibrant, active downtown!
