A Thanksgiving Reflection on Supporting Our Veterans ???? As we approach Thanksgiving ?? , a time of gratitude and reflection, I find myself thinking about the many blessings we enjoy, and the incredible sacrifices made by those who serve our country. This season, I am especially reminded of my work with the 10th Mountain Division and the challenges they faced upon returning home from Afghanistan. Their resilience and bravery in the face of hardship were awe-inspiring, but it was their struggles with substance use and PTSD that truly opened my eyes to the urgent need for specialized mental health resources for our Veterans. Being able to assist in connecting these heroes with the care they needed was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their healing. ?? This Thanksgiving, I am also profoundly thankful for the work you do at Veterans Affairs. Your commitment to supporting our Veterans and their families is an essential part of ensuring they can thrive after their service. I am honored to collaborate with you to explore new ways to strengthen this mission, whether through innovative programs or additional advocacy efforts. A whiteboard prominently displays the day’s schedule, including group meetings, meal times, and fitness sessions, ensuring a structured and supportive atmosphere. ??Kitchen – Our state-of-the-art kitchen features elegant granite countertops and a weekly menu curated by our exceptional chef in collaboration with a licensed dietitian. The focus is on nutritious, healing meals that support the well-being of our residents. ??Pool Area – Outdoor wellness is a key component of our recovery program.
