关于我们

Our mission is to enhance and improve educational opportunities in Pinellas County Schools. Our vision is that every student will be prepared for life after high school, whether the choice is to attend college, to enter the workforce, or to obtain technical training. Founded in 1986 by Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Gus A. Stavros, the Pinellas Education Foundation has raised more than $140 million to support the students and teachers of Pinellas County Schools and is consistently ranked among the top public school education foundations in the United States. The Pinellas Education Foundation is passionately committed to providing all students with the opportunity to be successful. It is our belief that we must have a superior educational system to ensure that our school children remain competitive in an increasingly global marketplace. Involving the private sector in our efforts to improve education is vital to our success. The Pinellas Education Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501 ? 3 organization and has received the coveted Four Star rating for sound fiscal management by The Charity Navigator. This rating indicates that it outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way.

Yesterday, we hosted our Fall Superintendent’s Roundtable Luncheon, bringing together some of our partners, community leaders, Foundation board members, and school board members to hear district updates from Superintendent Kevin K. Hendrick. He highlighted Pinellas County Schools' strategic plan and objects, core beliefs and the latest achievements of our A-rated school district. In addition, he shared an update on the state of hurricane-impacted schools and the Foundation’s relief efforts. It was a great afternoon of discussion. We all left feeling #PCSProud! Thank you to our sponsors, Creative Contractors and Williamson Design Associates, for making this luncheon possible!

The College and Career Centers are buzzing with activity! The Centers are the hub of information and support to provide individualized assistance to navigate the post-secondary process. They hosted two College Fairs, with approx. 800 students in attendance. The fairs had vendors from various colleges, career and internship fields, and military opportunities present. They were successful events for students and their families to explore a variety of options to prepare for life after high school. Earlier in the fall, the Centers also hosted Parent Master Classes at three schools across the county, focused on 9th through 11th grade students and their families to learn more about the PSAT. The sessions reviewed PSAT preparation and how the scores can predict future SAT and ACT scores. Additionally, the sessions helped inform students what areas they need extra practice in to increase their scores for Florida Bright Futures Scholarship attainment and the college admission process.

Last week our Take Stock in Children team held our Fall Senior Workshop for college-bound Pinellas County Schools seniors involved in our mentoring program. The workshop included valuable information on accessing financial aid, completing the FAFSA application, and navigating the admissions process for colleges, universities and technical programs. A huge thank you to St. Petersburg College Clearwater Campus hosting the event and helping our students plan for success after high school!

Pinellas Education Foundation is closed today in observance of Veterans Day. We honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication. Did you know? The origin of Veterans Day dates back to November 11, 1919. It became a national holiday in 1938 and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all U.S. military veterans. Thank you to all veterans for your service and sacrifice!
