Pinelands Preservation Alliance is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization committed to the ongoing protection of the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve. We promote wide public engagement in their preservation and advance the acquisition of land and development rights by private and public conservation agencies. In addition to this work, the Alliance has multiple initiatives: Pinelands Adventures, an outdoor recreation program aimed at fostering public understanding of and devotion to the Pinelands; Rancocas Creek Farm a sustainable, chemical-free farm connected to our mission to protect the Pinelands; AccessNature, a movement to increase open space opportunities throughout New Jersey for people of all abilities; and the Landscape Makeover Program, green infrastructure designed to transform lawn and archaic stormwater systems into native habitat that also improves surface and groundwater quality. We are dedicated to furthering justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our staff and our work. Everyone should have access to recreation, clean air and water, and the scenic beauty the Pinelands provides.

  • We released our annual State of the Pinelands Report this week. This report offers a comprehensive assessment of the Pinelands' current state, the historical events that have shaped the present, and the outlook for the future. “The state of our political and natural environment is a signal to the Pinelands Preservation Alliance that our advocacy is desperately needed,” said Jaclyn Rhoads, Executive Director. “Climate change, federal rollbacks of environmental protections, and dramatic funding cuts are a threat to the Pinelands and its people.” Read the report https://lnkd.in/gcAMGEiw #nj #climate

  • The Inclusive Healthy Communities (IHC) grant program provides funding to nonprofit organizations and local governments in New Jersey to undertake initiatives that support the health and well-being of individuals with disabilities in their communities. A new round of funding is expected to be announced in early 2025. Watch this video to learn more about the program and how to prepare for the next RFP.     On December 5, 2024, our Food Justice co-coordinators attended the South Jersey Regional Food Systems Summit, hosted by NJ Food Democracy Collaborative at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, NJ. This event provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with fellow food systems advocates, organizations, farmers, and institutions in Southern New Jersey. We engaged in fruitful conversations about strategies for a region often overlooked, reflecting on our collective strengths, identifying gaps, and exploring potential collaborative initiatives. The summit’s activities fostered a space for introspection and collective action—reminding us that when we come together, we can truly amplify our impact and move our local food systems forward.   • I am proud of the work that Pinelands Alliance does, with the support of our members & partners & advocates, to protect the Pinelands for generations to come. The new map reflects the hard work of the Park Service, the Pinelands Commission, the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, and countless advocates who have fought to protect the Pines. The Pinelands continue to be one of the most important harbors of wildlife and nature on the East Coast.   • ??Rancocas Creek Farm Is Hiring! ?? Rancocas Creek Farm is a chemical-free, regenerative, diversified farm on 72 acres in Southampton, New Jersey. The Farm is completing its fifth growing season in 2024 and markets its produce, fruit, flowers, herbs, and pastured pork through an on-farm CSA and sells food to businesses. RCF also hosts gleaning events and donates food. We connect with the community through farm and birding tours, farm-to-table dinners, and similar events.
