We’re right in the middle of tax season and working closely with our CPAs. If you’re new to investing and K-1s, here are a few key things to know: · Schedule K-1 (or simply K-1s) are tax forms used to report earnings, losses, deductions, and credits. · When you invest with us, you become a member of the entity that owns the asset. · Each tax season, our CPAs prepare a partnership return for the entity and each investor gets a Schedule K-1, representing your individual allocation based on percentage of ownership. · K-1s are delivered to investors by March 15th, and you would then incorporate them into your personal tax return. · If you’re an investor with Pilot Capital, you’ll receive an email notification when K-1(s) are available through your online investor portal. Everyone’s tax situation is different - we always recommend that investors work with trusted advisors at each step of the process. At tax season, you’ll want a proficient tax advisor in your court to ensure that tax law is appropriately applied to your individual tax situation.?

A hearty welcome to Kalisha Mickalich, who recently joined Pilot Capital as a Senior Acquisitions and Asset Management Analyst! At a time when we are more excited than ever for the buying opportunities of a changing market, adding an analyst allows us to see and underwrite even more properties and find the best deals for our investors.??? In 2024 our goal is to more than double the number of deals we underwrote in 2023! Kalisha spent more than a decade in multifamily lending, most recently as a production analyst with Umpqua Bank for six years. Prior to her time in banking, she spent four years in the commercial insurance industry, underwriting and quoting property and casualty insurance and negotiating coverage with carriers to provide competitive quotes. Needless to say, Kalisha brings a great skill set and wealth of experience to the Pilot Capital team.
