关于我们
PILOT is Software-Based Emerging Leader Development. Our mission is "for everyone to feel powerful at work". Our award-winning product helps empower each employee to truly own their career and actively shape their experience at work. PILOT takes the best of traditional coaching and makes it better: affordable, data-driven, on-demand, mobile-enabled, and cohort-based. PILOT's structured coaching program works across industries and a diverse range of employee profiles and roles. Founded by former HR Executives and Professional Coaches, we know how hard it is for HR/Business Leaders to respond to increased demand for employee development. That's why our turn-key solution is easy to implement and can be deployed in just 2 weeks. We are also one of few SaaS businesses that is Certified LGBTBE®. This certification is given by the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) recognizing that we are an LGBT-owned business. We are also a certified disability-owned business enterprise (DOBE) as part of Disability:IN’s Supplier Diversity program. This means that by partnering with PILOT, you will not only get access to an innovative, award-winning product, but you will also be supporting a small, diverse-owned and disability-owned business.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. The data is clear: Managers are burned out. And yet, we keep piling on expectations without offering support. One example? Cultivating a positive culture. Too often, culture development feels like just another task to already overwhelmed managers. But done right, it becomes a skill—one that benefits everyone in the organization. At PILOT, we believe in equipping managers with the tools, feedback & accountability to actually champion their organization's culture and create a better workplace. Because managing isn’t about checking boxes. It’s about changing lives—and building workplaces that people want to work at (including the managers themselves!). Interested in how we can partner with your organization to empower managers? We'd love to chat! #LeadershipDevelopment #ManagerTraining #EmployeeDevelopment #FutureOfWork

Does your organization have operating principles? If so, are they doing their job of helping drive your company's culture? At PILOT, we love helping our customers not only develop operating principles to support their leadership strategy, but also put them into practice! Thank you, Versant Health, for having us partner in this powerful executive offsite! #powerfulatwork #workplaceculture #leadershipstrategy #operatingprinciples

𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼. This was a theme of an executive offsite Rachel Crice and I led for one of our stunning customers, Versant Health, a few weeks ago. We've been working alongside Versant's stellar leadership team to create and roll out a Culture Strategy to accelerate their Business Strategy execution. This event in Cary, NC included their Commercial Team, who are critical to their growth strategy. Defining what's expected during a period of realignment and growth is critical, and everyone in the room was pumped to have 3 clear, simple, and actionable Operating Principles to guide behavior, accountability, and expectations. But the most powerful part of the offsite was moving from discussing those principles to creating a plan for actually implementing them individually. The participants were a bit surprised when we told them to only pick 1 of the 3 principles and that they had the authority to make that choice. By focusing on a single Operating Principle, they can prioritize their growth around the area they assessed would provide the most impact on their performance. By the end of the event, behaviors were already changing, new actions were being taken, and incremental progress was being made in shifting how the team interacts internally and with clients. This is how effective workplace cultures are built. 👏 🤔 Could you simplify development planning and objectives to a single focus you have at your organization? P.S. A special thank you to Jennifer Kuhn, Daniel J. Oftedahl, Corinne Campbell, and Amy McGonigal,M.S.Ed. for helping lead and organize such a powerful event! #OperatingPrinciples #Leadership #ExecutiveWorkshop #Offsite #Culture

🤔 𝗜𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱? 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱? I had the privilege of facilitating a Board of Directors leadership retreat for one of PILOT Inc.'s inspiring long-term customers, Housing Works — with a dual mission to end HIV/AIDS and homelessness. Every three years, the agency embarks on a strategic planning process, and we've been fortunate enough to be able to support these efforts. The world is changing faster than ever, and so are the needs of the client population that the agency serves. As a powerful community organizer and services provider in New York City, the organization provides the largest private housing supply for HIV-positive people in America, provides wraparound medical care, and leverages a number of social enterprise businesses, such as New York State's first licensed cannabis store, to fund these efforts. 🛑 Yet their old mission no longer fully represented the work and populations they're serving. As we planned for the future, there was a lot of meaningful discussion about the current headwinds facing the organization and the country at large. Charles King, the co-founder and CEO of the agency, piped up, asking,💡"Consider how this environment is an opportunity, not just a threat," which changed the tone of the entire day. According to Gallup, only 30% of managers are engaged globally. This a problem on 2 levels: 1️⃣ Managers are integral to business results, so organizational pains are felt at the highest level when they have one foot out the door. 2️⃣ Managers drive organizational culture. Disengaged managers lead to disengaged employees. Luckily, this problem also has 2 clear solutions: 1️⃣ Invest in manager development. Gallup's research shows that companies with engaged managers teach them to be coaches - equipping them with the skills they need to lead well. 2️⃣ Improve culture by developing a culture deck. This comprehensive document compiles an organization's mission, vision, leadership principles, manager competencies, etc., so everyone knows what's expected of them. Getting business buy-in and actual ownership of either of these two interventions is challenging, yet it IS the difference-maker in sustained change. Know that PILOT Inc. and our stellar crew can be your guide and help you move faster in our service model — a "50/50 partnership where we do 90% of the work and make you look like a hero!" 🤔 I'm curious - do you know your organization's defined manager competencies? Drop a +1 in the comments if so!

Is Your Culture an Asset—or an Afterthought? 🤔 PILOT's Founder & CEO, Ben Brooks, shares how one important document can transform an organization's entire culture - from setting manager expectations and defining leadership competencies to ensuring a smooth hiring process and everyday interactions. Does your organization have a culture deck? If not, check out this TroopHR blog post to learn what it is and clear steps to create one. And if you're looking for more help, our crew is here for you! #culture #companyculture #culturedeck
Founder & CEO, PILOT | Let’s Elevate Your Employee Development Together | Empowering Your Staff Through a Balanced, Innovative, Engaging, Metrics-Driven Program for Talent Development, DEI, and Retention
Your Company Has a Culture—But How Do You Define It? Is It Written Down? Most senior executives talk about "our culture" but often that's more a function of the people, than an intentional strategy or agreement on behavior. If you don’t design it, it designs itself. And that’s when misalignment, disengagement, & turnover creep in. That’s why every organization needs a Culture Deck. It’s more than just a document; it’s a blueprint for how your company operates, makes decisions, & shows up. Yet, too many leaders either don’t have one or let it collect dust. In my latest blog for TroopHR, I break down: 🔹 What a Culture Deck is (hint: more than just values on a slide) 🔹 Why every company needs one—no matter the size 🔹 How to build a Culture Deck that actually drives behavior Culture happens by design or by default. Which one are you leading? 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gEM5u_Zw #culture #workplaceculture #leadership

Talent Management Starts in the Hiring Process Finding great talent through recruiting is a piece of the puzzle, but organizations and managers often have no plan to get the most out of new hires once they start. Traditional onboarding is rooted in administrative logistics of important things like building access, HR paperwork, IT provisioning, policy orientation, etc. But it often takes ~6 months for new talent to perform at a "meets expectations" level (often measured as time to competency or proficiency). Shortening that cycle has massive ROI not just for employers but also for the talent they hire as this accelerates the rate of learning and oxygenates the employee experience. My best advice is to map out an end-to-end process BEFORE you write a job description or sort through resumes. Recruiters and hiring managers are often hasty in just "seeing who's out there" and then bumbling along each step of the process with mission success declared upon an accepted employment offer. If you're like most professionals, you don't have a lot of time to do this kind of planning, or you struggle with building such a process. I've got you! I’ve created an 8-step guide packed with actionable strategies for attracting, assessing, and onboarding the right talent. Let me know what you find helpful! #CompanyCulture #Leadership #Onboarding

3 Questions to Help Define D, E, and I Diversity: Who's at the table? Equity: Can an individual's identity predict their outcomes? Inclusion: Is everyone empowered to contribute? To have a workplace that's diverse, we first need to be inclusive. To be inclusive, we need to proactively create opportunities that promote equity. A great way to do this is by making leadership development a core pillar of DEI - offering inclusive leadership development opportunities at all organizational levels. PILOT's Founder & CEO, Ben Brooks, had the privilege of sharing about "Putting Equity Back in DEI by Fostering Leadership" with the employees at Crédit Agricole CIB as part of their Diversity Month and the Allyship to Inspire Inclusion series. We're so grateful for the opportunity to partner with this impressive leadership team that's committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture. Ben ended the keynote with this quote: Equality is leaving the door open for anyone who has the means to approach it; equity is ensuring there is a pathway to that door for those who need it. -Caroline Belden, “The Inclusive Solution” Let's all search for pathways for those who need it and together strive for a more equitable world. #LeadershipDevelopment #DEI #Equity #LeadershipMatters
