Last night, the Pilates community lost one of the great ones, Jay Grimes. Jay Grimes carried Joseph Pilates' work forward for the benefit of us all and never stopped sharing his knowledge. In a modality like Pilates that is relatively young, when you lose one of the original leaders, it is truly felt throughout the entire community. To those who knew Jay, who learned from Jay, and honor his legacy through their own work, we thank you, and we send our condolences. #pilates #pilateslegacy #jaygrimes

Today is World Pilates Day, an international celebration of Joseph Pilates’ revolutionary fitness method. We are so grateful to him for creating this movement. Let's talk equipment! ?? Mat: In the beginning, Joseph Pilates developed his method with a Mat. His original repertoire consisted of 34 Mat exercises. Reformer: The Reformer’s sliding carriage, springs, and straps allow practitioners to perform resistance-based exercises. Cadillac: Also known as the Trapeze Table, the Cadillac is the ultimate apparatus. With its springs, pulleys, and overhead bars, the Cadillac can assist in helping you learn new exercises and connecting deeper to your muscles.
