The call for entries is on for the Realscreen Summit’s popular live pitch competition, with a new partner and new theme on tap for the 2025 edition. Partners in Kind co-Founders, Gillian Hormel and Shelly Tygielski recently contributed an article to SIE Voices Magazine, published by the Social Impact in Entertainment Society. "In a world where content is ubiquitous, the entertainment industry holds a unique power to influence society. Films, television shows, podcasts, and theater productions not only entertain us but often challenge our perspectives, educate us on critical social issues, and inspire us toward action. Media projects have the power to shift culture, but without measuring the social impact of any media projects, we risk losing the opportunity to understand, replicate, and amplify their success." They list four key reasons why measuring social impact in entertainment is crucial to the success and continued support of such projects. #partnersinkind #socialimpactinentertainment #filmproduction #documentaries #data #philanthropy

We are excited to officially announced that Partners in Kind Productions, has teamed up in a joint venture with Audio Up to form "Podcasts in Kind." "Social impact–oriented production company Partners in Kind, founded by philanthropists and activists Gillian Hormel (pictured left) and Shelly Tygielski (right), is teaming up with Audio Up, the podcast company established by Jingle Punks founder Jared Gutstadt, for a podcasting initiative focusing on amplifying the voices of BIPOC, Latinx, LGBTQ+ and women storytellers while highlighting stories about marginalized communities and issues. Podcasts in Kind will receive support from Partners in Kind’s Purpose in Production Impact Funds, with Hormel and Tygielski leveraging their extensive network of social activists, creators and organizations to produce podcast series ranging from “gripping true crime to inspiring sports narratives,” with an onus on content from “historically marginalized storytellers.” Audio Up will bring its production expertise to the project, with plans to produce and distribute at least 10 shows under the Podcasts in Kind umbrella in the next 12 months, providing critical infrastructure, editing, sound design, and original music. The initiative will also serve as an “audio agency” of sorts for brands and projects looking to connect with diverse creators and audiences. Kicking it all off will be?Exodus Stories?from director Ilse Fernandez, an expansion of her PBS series of the same name. The audio series follows the journey of several undocumented migrants from their country of origin to the United States. Also on deck is an audio project in partnership with doc-maker Mark Marabella focusing on the story of Charles Wakefield Jr., who has fought to clear his name since being convicted of a double homicide in the 1970s. “Our vision for Partners in Kind has always been to create ecosystems around the projects we invest in, ensuring the widest access to audiences through a variety of mediums,” said Partners in Kind co-founders Hormel and Tygielski in a joint statement. “To that end, we’re excited to enter into the podcast space, and we couldn’t think of a better, more mission-aligned partner than Audio Up.”" #partnersinkind #socialimpact #socialimpactinentertainment

Partners in Kind Productions co-founder Gillian Hormel recently did an interview with an Arizona paper to discuss the company’s ethos and vision for the entertainment industry. “What that means is [PIK] trying to attach some sort of impact campaign or tangible act of kindness to every project we’re involved in,” Hormel explains. “There’s so much influence in the media and we want that ripple to go further than just the two and a half hours. We want to make sure there’s some sort of tangible impact after just what’s on the screen.” https://lnkd.in/ebXdjuzd #impact #socialimpact #production #movies #entertainment #partnersinkind
