"That's what America is – helping people, and I'm part of that. So I'm happy." An OR nurse who fled war in Sierra Leone shares her story of resilience. Her story is not unusual; across the country immigrants make up more than 18% of the nation's healthcare workers, 18% of childcare workers, 27% of the direct care workforce, and nearly 13% of the education workforce. Immigrants are our nation's strength.
