Access to safe, affordable housing is essential - but for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), finding housing is often extremely difficult. Parkview Services, one of our amazing providers, is working to change that by providing affordable housing, homeownership opportunities, supportive living, and community programs that help individuals live with dignity and independence. In 2021, Pierce County Human Services awarded funds for the rehabilitation of their Meridian Home in Graham, housing four tenants with 24/7 support through the State-Operated Living Alternatives (SOLA) program. This project addresses critical housing needs for individuals with I/DD and extremely low-income households - two groups often facing housing instability. In the future, they plan to expand affordable housing opportunities across Pierce County. Check out our video highlighting this important work and visit ParkviewServices.org to learn more!
