Attendee’s appreciated the robust design which allows for simplistic operations, maintenance and drivability. Firefighter’s safety is a top priority when designing and testing our apparatus. Today’s #SafetySpotlght is focused on the extensive crash testing Pierce has conducted on apparatus models. ??Every cab model is crash tested at the Center for Advanced Product Evaluation to meet or exceed the cab integrity requirements relative to occupant protection. ??Cabs go through static roof, side crush testing, as well as dynamic, frontal and side impact testing. ??All Pierce custom cabs passed the dynamic tests at two times the required level of energy. The static test proved that all Pierce cabs can withstand four times the required test loads.
