Since 1968, the Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) has partnered with the local leaders of the 12 county Piedmont Triad Region to implement creative regional solutions with the mission to improve the lives of the community. The PTRC accomplishes its mission through seven programs that include: the Area Agency on Aging, Criminal Justice, Economic Development, Community Development Services, Management Services, Regional Planning, and Workforce Development. The Piedmont Triad Regional Council brings together elected officials from their 74 member governments regularly to allow leaders to form working relationships. Come work in PTRC's Regional Planning department! We have two new job postings for which we're accepting applications: Grants Analyst and Regional Planning Intern. The Grants Analyst position (full time) will be key in implementing millions of dollars worth of grant funding for programs across the Piedmont Triad region. Installing Green Stormwater Infrastructure, creating stormwater management components along recreational trails, and installing EV charging stations are just some of the program activities for which the Grants Analyst will ensure proper fiscal administration. The Regional Planning Intern position is a great way to gain experience across a wide range of local government planning services - everything from current planning services to GIS work to water resources/environmental planning. Reynolds Tobacco Company Buildings 82 and 83, Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, listed 8/7/2024 Sidney Cotton Mill, Graham, Alamance County, listed 8/2/2024
We are excited to announce that three historic districts and twelve individual properties across the state have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The properties were reviewed by the North Carolina National Register Advisory Committee and subsequently nominated by the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Officer and forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register for consideration for listing in the National Register. "Preserving our history is vital to understanding who we are and shaping where we’re headed," said Reid Wilson, secretary of the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. "The newest additions from North Carolina to the National Register of Historic Places demonstrate our commitment to safeguarding our heritage, enriching our shared story, and strengthening local economies." The Town of Pleasant Garden, N.C., seeks proposals for construction services to improve site drainage and athletic fields at the Town's Volunteer Park. The work needed is centered around two existing soccer fields, and this is a great opportunity to enhance a public outdoor recreation amenity that also provides youth sports leagues, a youth playground, and pedestrian trails. Deadline for proposals is 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024. An in-person pre-bid meeting is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 at the Pleasant Garden Community Center (5024 Alliance Church Road).
