Piedmont Triad Apartment Association, Est. 1981 Identity and Purpose: The Piedmont Triad Apartment Association (PTAA) is the leading multi-family housing organization serving the Piedmont Triad region. Originally organized by apartment owners and operators, today PTAA constituencies also include Vendor Partners, residents, and the community-at-large. It is an advocate for the industry in local, regional, and national legislative issues. PTAA provides leadership and resources to its members in order to create and operate apartment communities Triad residents can trust to meet their housing needs. In concert with AANC and NAA, its principal programs address industry standards and best practices in providing continuing education and professional development. Mission: PTAA brings its constituencies together to improve apartment living in the Triad. Vision: PTAA apartment communities will be recognized as quality housing choices and valuable resources throughout the Triad. What an incredible journey these past two years have been! Two years ago, we set out to establish the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee at Piedmont Triad Apartment Association What started as a vision became a mission, and what a journey it has been! Last night, we held our final DEI social with me as the acting Chair—and we went out with a BANG! Thanks to the amazing support of our community, we collected over four totes filled with men's hygiene items for The Malachi House, a local organization dedicated to helping men get back on the right path. This drive was not just a moment; it was a movement—a tangible example of what happens when a community comes together to make a difference. To everyone who braved the bad weather to attend, donated items, or sent your contributions—THANK YOU! Your dedication to supporting this cause is what fuels meaningful change. Thank you to PTAA for believing in us and being patient as we navigated this journey. A special thank you to the incredible individuals like Elizabeth (Liz) Newkirk and Rebecca Rosario who encouraged and motivated us every step of the way. As I pass the torch to the next Chair, my heart is full. My message to you is simple: Onward and upward! Continue soaring, defying expectations, and lighting the way for others. Be the change that is so desperately needed. Don't let anything or anyone dim the light we've ignited together.
